Expedition Itinerary

Accommodation: Diego de Almagro or similar

Punta Arenas is near the tip of Chile’s southernmost Patagonia region. With port and sheep-breeding history, this city will captivate you with its clean air and sophisticated European architecture.Stretch your legs walking around the Main Square and take in its traditions. The Statue of the Indian is waiting for you to kiss or touch its feet, which people say means you’ll be back.

Accommodation: Posada Don Fiori or similar

The expedition begins today by driving to the port and we ferry ourselves out, literally, crossing the famous Magellan Strait; which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. We reach Porvenir in Tierra del Fuego and then an overland drive will take us for a meet and greet with the Penguins. Crossing the border, we end our day in Rio Grande, Argentina.

Accommodation: Los Cauquenes Hotel or similar

Whatever route we take for this drive, surrounding landscapes will not fail to mesmerize. The 210 km. drive will takeus from scenic snow-capped mountains and picturesque lakes to dry, flat, brown lands. Moving through the scores of glacier-capped mountains and grey lakes that greet with each swooping turn, it’s humbling to see nature at its best.

Accommodation: Patagonia Hotel or similar

We leave behind ‘world’s southernmost city’ and head north for a long day of driving. Crossing borders, ferries, driving, we’ve got it all in a day’s work. Rio Gallegos is named afterBlasco Gallegos, one of Ferdinand Magellan’s pilots, who is credited with discovering the river Gallegos.

Accommodation: Helsingfors

As we leave this coastal town of Rio Gallegos, the roads around always have a surprise in store, be it the guanacos, red or the grey fox. Our 418 km. journey with its breathtaking views and fresh air will take us closer to experiencing the local lifestyle, at Estancia Helsingfors.

Accommodation: Helsingfors

Set in the charming landscape in Los Glaciers National Park surrounded by lush woods, this historical ranch (estancia) will make you forget the noise and disorder of the city. Sit back, relax, connect with the rhythms of the cosmos as you enjoy a glass of wine.

Accommodation: Estancia NibepoAike or similar

We explore the massive Glacier Perito Moreno today. This glacier is considered by many to be the 8th natural wonder of the world. It is one of only three glaciers in the world that grows rather than retreat. Its ever shifting icy landscape is popular for hiking and sightseeing. Late afternoon we drive to NibepoAike Ranch.

Accommodation: Estancia Cerro Guido or similar

Estancias or ranches are an integral part of Argentina life. Being located in such a beautiful natural setting makes estancias excellent places for all types of outdoor activities. You can choose to enjoy the ranch and surroundings over a horseback, a trek for an authentic farmstead experience or just sit back and enjoy nature. One can indulge in some 4X4 driving as well. Post lunch we leave for Cerro Guido

Accommodation: Estancia Cerro Guido or similar

A full day at Torres del Paine! Navigate around Grey lake to get up close with the Grey Glacier. Besides its spectacular beauty it is also known for 25 species of mammals that make their home in the park, including the guanaco, puma, Patagonian grey fox, and the endangered and skittish Huemul deer. You might just be in luck! Today we also will celebrate a farewell dinner together cherishing all the great memories we had during the entire expedition.
