Bhutan
Kingdom’s Edge

Overland expedition to the farthest reaches of the Himalayan Kingdom

BEYOND THE MONASTERIES AND VALLEYS

Bhutan reveals itself slowly, and most never go far enough to see it. Beyond Paro's prayer flags and Punakha's postcard valleys lies a Bhutan few have driven through: high passes choked with cloud, dirt tracks clinging to ridgelines, villages where the modern world has barely left a footprint. This is an overland expedition to the farthest reaches of the Himalayan Kingdom, where roads run thin, monasteries sit beyond most outsiders' reach, and every switchback earns you a view no guidebook has captured. Drive to the edge of Bhutan, on your own terms.

Venky
Founder & Shepherd

Venky spent a decade in the automobile industry, where people bonded over machines and the roads beneath them — and where he realised that what they were truly searching for lay further out. In 2016 he founded Nomadic Road in India, convinced that the oldest human instinct — to move — deserved better than sightseeing. His premise was simple: make the world small enough for strangers to cross its remotest corners together — because no one returns from the frontier unchanged. Ten years and four continents later, that premise holds — proven on every crossing by one belief: the bond between man, machine, and Mother Nature is a powerful one. On the road, his explorers don't call him the founder. They call him the Shepherd.

WHO THE ROAD BELONGS TO

Every expedition here runs on hands you’ll mostly never see. The field chefs cooking before you wake. The mechanics working behind the convoy to keep the machines running. The hospitality and camping crew who raise your night’s shelter, and the cultural specialists, local guides, and staff who open the ground itself. All of them live here. That’s why the road opens for us, and it’s where what you spend on this expedition stays.

What to expect
