Encounter the enigmatic wildlife that goes beyond what a chauffeur-driven safari can offer. The thrill of black-maned Kalahari lions roaring into the silent night while you camp. Stumbling upon one of the three African big cats – cheetah, leopard and lions, alongside herds of springbok and gemsbok.

The Kalahari is a rare desert that’s home to diverse wildlife. Our expedition routes are charted for you to drive into landscapes untouched, where the wildlife inhabits untamed.

Stay in the middle of nowhere

At Nomadic Road, we carefully curate the expedition vehicle that gives us the freedom to venture into the remote wilderness self-sufficiently. The Toyota Hillux truck is our pick – from camping on the rooftop, to using a portable shower in the middle of nowhere, this expedition vehicle is fully equipped with campaign essentials. Our expeditions are accompanied by an experienced field chef to create special culinary experiences while you camp in the middle of nowhere.

- Departure 2 route will be in reverse direction starting from Maun and tracing the same route back to Windhoek.

- Departure 2 is one day longer than Departure 1 since the last day drive back to Windhoek is long and hence its advisable stay that day in Windhoek and depart the next day.
